How do I apply for admission to the Intensive English Program at Spring International Language Center?

How will I know if I have been accepted into the program?
After your application and housing forms, $125 fee, and bank statement have been received in Arkansas, you will receive (usually within 1 or 2 weeks) the I-20 and Arrival Information Form. You will need to complete and return the Arrival Information Form so that we can begin making arrangements to meet you at the airport.
Acceptance into Spring International Language Center does not constitute admission into the University of Arkansas. A separate application must be requested from the University. You can find that at the UA International Admissions Office website at iao.uark.edu.
How do I get a student visa to enter the United States?
First, make an appointment at your local United States Embassy or Consulate, and second, pay your SEVIS fee.
You should take:
- our I-20 form showing admission to our school,
- your passport,
- your SEVIS receipt, and
- evidence of the source and amount of your financial support to the US Embassy or Consulate to apply for an F-1 student visa.
You should also be prepared to explain your planned course of study in the US and probable year of return to your home country.
How will I be met at the airport in the United States?
You should send all flight arrival information (airline name and flight number, departure and arrival times) at least two weeks in advance. Go here for your application to be picked up at the airport.
Upon arrival at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA), a representative of Spring International Language Center or your host family will meet you inside the airport arrival gate and drive you to the University.

How will I check-in to my housing arrangement?
The representative from Spring International Language Center will take you to your campus residence apartment and help you settle in to your campus accommodations.
How will I meet my American host family?
If you have been placed in homestay housing, you will normally be met at the airport by your host family. In a few cases you will meet your host family within 48 hours of your arrival. There are a limited number of host families and in a residence apartment while the homestay placements are arranged by Spring International Language Center. Late requests for homestays may result in your staying in the campus residence apartments for one 9-week term.
When must I pay my tuition and fees?
You will pay tuition, all remaining fees, and register for classes at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of the term. How will I know which level of English classes I have been assigned?
After you have paid and registered, you will be tested and level assignments will be determined by the Program Director based on your test results. The test will include an oral interview, a writing sample, a reading section, and grammar.
Will there be an orientation for newly arrived students?
Following registration and testing, you will attend an orientation to Spring International Language Center and the University of Arkansas and enjoy a Welcome Lunch. On the second day, you will visit the bank and go shopping for any items you may need to get settled.
When will I receive my schedule of classes?
Class schedules are usually ready for you to pick up on the third day at 8:00 a.m. Your first class starts at 8:30 a.m.
